Hill Country Wedding

Including one's wedding in their portfolio might be a little unconventional.

Well, so was my wedding.

What happens when a New Orleans-raised musician and Austin-based experience designer get married?

A party of epic proportions.

It all started with the venue - a place as welcoming and wacky as we are. Star Hill Ranch, a family-owned recreation of a 1900's Texas Main Street with real historical buildings, from a stable to a saloon, set the stage perfectly.

As an artistically-minded couple, it was important to us that we collaborate with talented locals and give them as much creative freedom as possible. Invites were hand-drawn by an acclaimed music poster illustrator. Live-fire cooking replaced rinse-and-repeat catering. Blues and Cumbia musicians took the place of cover bands or DJs. A single, seat-yourself communal table stretched through main street for our friends and family to break bread.

On top of all that, we wrapped up the night with freshly fried beignets. It doesn't get much sweeter.

A Mix of Live Performances

From a keyboardist teeing up the walk down the aisle to a blues trio at our NOLA-inspired happy hour, every moment had a soundtrack.

Hand-Drawn Illustrations

Iconic band poster designer Taylor Rushing designed everything from our invites to coozies and even flash tattoos.

Luxurious Lounging

Comfortable nooks encouraged intimate gathering and conversation away from the dance floor.

All in The Details

Personal touches, like mini bottles of hot sauce, bags of Zapps chips, and after-party beignets brought that Big Easy flavor.

Live-Fire Cooking

Every dish, from appetizers to proteins and sides, was prepared on open flame - a spectacle onto itself.

Al Fresco Dining

Two long tables stretched across the "Main Street," making the meal feel truly communal.

Day to Night

Iconic Austin chicha band, "Money Chicha", got butts moving to funky, psychedelic, latin instrumentals.

The Fond Farewell

A train of sparklers held by our friends and family put a sparkly bow on an unforgettable evening.
